Snow! BRRR! Yeah, I can see there are snow outside and it is freezing outside! BRRR!! Time for Florida! No, make that Costa Rica! No, make that Philippines. Oh, no, never mind! I am here in Central NY for now. Ha ha.
it is pretty to see the snow. Especially big flakes coming down and you can use black paper or cloth and use your magnify glass to see the beauty of the snow flake or flakes. I sure missed snowmobiling. Not driven one since 1985. Yes, 1985! What is that with that year in my life! Many things. Another time about that. Ha ha.
You know that snow is even mentioned in the Bible? Sure, the Bible had history and where Jesus lived were in the Middle East and Paul traveled as far as Europe both willing and unwilling--when he was arrested and even crashed at Syracuse.. nope, not that Syracuse. It is Siracusa, Sicila. Si, yes, in Sicily, a small island acting as a "rock" where the "boot" is kicking. The "heeled boot" is Italy. Anyway, about snow.
There are 25 verses that has the word snow in it. Many verses in the Bible are usually metaphor if you know about how God's word is written. Sure, God is colorful in wording just like Shakespeare would in his theater playwrights such as, "To be.. or not to be, what hasth thou?" The similar we all use jargon, idioms, sayings, and street words. "Hey, cool!" "Awesome, man!" "You rock!" and "Hey, Man!"
But also God uses the Word straightforward in many verses clearly and to the point such as John 3:16. That is why that man asked Jesus what it means to be Born-Again as I explained before (See one of previous sermon on this subject about being Born Again).
Snow has a purpose here on Earth. Sure, the weather affected it but God made that happened because of course, God is the Creater (Genesis chapters 1 and 2 and John 1:1-3).
We have four seasons. Seasons are like a metaphor. You know that? Do you know what the meanings of the seasons? I am not talking about the clock. I am not talking about why we have it because of the position of the earth axis which is about 10 degrees angle. No. I am talking about the meaning here in parable view. Ok, let me explain each season what those seasons means. Start with Spring because I will explain snow what it means here.. and the verses then we will get to the point to the verse of the day which is funny that Biblegateway today has a verse of the day the exact I was thinking of today and past few days. Good one. Ok.
Spring as you can see means snow melted away, leaves coming out. Warmer weather and greener pastures, flowers coming out. Awesome feeling and desires to spend outdoors to get your campers ready for camping, to play softball, get gas and oil out of your snowthowers, snowmobiles, and snowbikes. And put them into your lawn mowers. And wanting to wash your favorite car and get it rolling to showoff at car meets. OK. Spring in a metaphor means being born again! Coming alive! Nature rejoice! Yes, they are active! Remember Jesus said in Luke 19:40 KJV that rocks itselves will sing and yes, nature can sing.
Luke 19:40 KJV-
And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
So, yes, nature is alive. Now, let's get back to this about seasons. Summer is awesome and to the fullest. Hot weather, I know. You too know that but this means to the most comfortable and ON FIRE FOR GOD! Praise God! But you know the season Fall means. Clearly the word fall. Sure they say it is related to the leaves falling off the trees. OK you are onto something here with that word. It means fallen! Spiritually-wise, you fallen away from the Lord. That is what it means. And God bless the nature with white... snow. It means to cleanse so that nature can be Born Again in the Spring. God gave you so many repeats with the nature because He wants you to be saved! He wants you to see what His messages were through nature, things, happenings, etc. YES! God is teaching you the Word through nature!! Duh! Hey!! You get it!? That is what the whole point out there. And yes, now you know what to do, go and teach all nations!
Most common snow are used in two ways in the Bible. Metaphorically, it means purity. Snow is pure. White means pure. Dark and black means death and evil. Quite the opposite. Even lost souls knew that. For example, Yin-Yang the zen eastern religion believes in balance of good and evil.
Snow is teaching nature the Word. Spiritually, those snow are for you by learning and reading the Word of God in the Holy Bible.
Be wise!! That is more common known verse.
Psalm 51:7
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
That verse among a few more specially one about leprosy explained the healing and the word, "hand became like white as snow" to explain it was totally healed. (ie-2 Kings 5:27)
People tells me with my white hair, and they think I am wise. Maybe so with many things but never mind that. However, God is white like snow. Revelations it spoke of.
Revelations 1:14 KJV-
His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
John spoke of Jesus Christ. There are verses that talked about that.
So, the lesson here is snow is purity, clean. And nice!! Ha ha.
You should know this verse then.. now I am going to explain like snow is outside in the nature but inside in your heart-
Isaiah 1:18
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
You want to be like that snow outside that was made for nature? You can! All you need is to do is to focus on the Lord. We want to be like Christ, all white and purity? That is what you need to do spiritually and even physically. Sure, shower daily, brush your teeth.. If you know about your teeth, you want to have it white and clean.. that is your answer. You need to brush your soul every day! How? Prayers! Read the Word! That is the same as showering and brushing every day!
Every day! Lets read this verse-Isaiah 1:16-17 KJV-16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;
17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.
OK, as we read this, we understand what this verse means. Verse 16 is you need to wash your soul every day. Not just physical kind. Your soul. How? Read the next part of the same verse which explains how. It means get rid of those evil sins and your sinful nature before the Lord. God does not want to see it. That is what He is saying. Stop playing stupid things. Stop being lazy, stop cheating, stop ignoring God, stop working on the day you are to worship the Lord, stop sinning! STOP STOP STOP! That is what the verse is saying.
Next verse is for moving on. You should learn to do well. It means not college education. Here they are talking about many things. If you are young, study in school but know which is the truth. Not the world's way. Second, learn every thing in life every day. Open your eyes and see all the metaphor things such as learn in church what the pastor is teaching you, preaching you, and guide you. Listen to your boss and learn something new. Hey, that will help you get promoted! Learn learn learn.. Other things you already know well, TEACH others.
See judgement. OK, I know that is a touchy subject. It means not for you to judge others. It means let others encourage you to do right things. That is what the verse means. For example, maybe you did not know what the Word means and you should seek others to help you on that subject. Maybe other things too. Like you did not know how to cook a nice garlic pizza, you can cook and you want to know how you made out. I can judge your pizza for you. Oh! You sure finally beat my best pizza!! ha ha! That is what seek judgement means. To ask others to see if you are doing the right thing.
Relieve the oppressions. OK, that is.. from what I read the whole verse. It means let it go. Don't let anybody bother you in what you are doing for the Lord. Like if you love someone, you let her go? OK, same thing here, God wants you to let go your troubles. Give it all to Him.
Judge the fatherless does not mean you got to judge the singles. Or some people simple can not have children of their own. None of that. Well, this does not mean you mock those who do not have children of their own. It means you guide those with constructive criticism to those who are children themselves AND those who are singles and unmarried. Actually, what it means to help those who are young. That is what it means. Not being liberal here. It is constructive criticism. In another word, make them strong and wise.
Plead for the widow. It means go help them. They are lonely and depressed without their spouse. I know how that is after married a widow.
So, all this ties to the verse Matthew 28:19 and 20 KJV. Again, those are the verses I explained in past few weeks.
Matthew 28:19-20 KJV-
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Go and teach them and they will wash themselves and be pure as white as snow!
God bless you! In Jesus' Name! Amen!
