You all have heard the word judgement quite so many times in more recent times such as in the news, on Facebook and other social media, backstabbing, word of mouth, yes that is judgmental because you are telling lies or judging someone to others. It is called slander. I can go on. You hear that all the time! In movies, on television, newspapers. Protesters, oh, so many ways people today are judging. Hm.. Is that good to judge others? I was reading that yesterday during my 30 minutes break. I just open my bible after a quick prayer and I read the word.. You know as you read more than once. I read this chapter once so many times but now I grasp it. God sometimes can lead you to do that until you grasp what it says.
Sadly, people today are so much in judging. Just plain people or even Narcissists or even with Asperger's. They judge as well. Sure, sure, most of those secular mind doctors called psychologists would say those patients have their illnesses because they judge. Hmm.. I think not.
It is easy to judge others when you allow it. It does not mean an illness. They need to surrender to the Lord Jesus Christ and stop that. You need to be faithful to the Lord. God is so good. When you do, you would not judge the wrong way. Yes, there is judgement in the right way as well.
There are many things you may have judged. Today, people and media are calling those judgmental racism. What racism has to do with that? Racism is judgmental alright. But the context of it today is wrong. Like the word, clever in Genesis chapter 2:24 in King James Bible which was written in 1611 or even earlier in 1599 Geneva English Bible say so. Today, they use that word meaning to cut in to or it is a type of knife that is wider and it is designed for thicker meat you want to cut with.
I am trying to say that context has changed in judgmental and today people misunderstood what judgmental means. For instance, today they think spanking is wrong and not a good judgmental and they say you need to be kind to your kids because spanking is wrong. WRONG! Spanking IS LEGAL in the EYES OF GOD! Let me show you in the Bible for that one as we discuss judgmental. It is more about punishment, not judgment. Let's look here in Proverbs. Sure, it was written in Old Testament but remember Jesus even said to obey His Commandments as Jesus said in New Testament, His Commandments are found in Old Testament so the Word is the Truth and not error. So, let's see...
Proverbs 13:24 KJV--
He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.
And this one,
Proverbs 22:15 KJV--
Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.
(There are more reference verses in Proverbs related to rod of correction which is like we have rods today used as punishment in some countries. Verses including Prov. 19:18; 23:13 and 14; 29:15. Even in New Testament- Hebrews 12:6 and 7).
That is one kind of good judgment to discipline children. Now, if we compare ourselves as Children of God and even children of Satan who are not saved face judgement and punishment.
The judgment I am referring is when people who are not Christians judge so harshly and do things bad. Even those who are in cults wanting to go out and wipe out Christians and the Jews. They are dead wrong to judge. They misunderstood what judgment in their religions. There is the right way to judge.
Let's go to Matthew chapter 7. You will understand clearly what judgment here means even beyond first two verses that everyone is so familiar.
Here is the judgment section of the chapter, Matthew 7:1-5 KJV, Jesus speaking--.
1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
What struck me was verse 5 saying that you have to do it yourself first like the verse 3 and 4 was talking about. You need to judge yourself first. OK, what God is saying here is that you need to take care of yourself first any troubles you have and you can not judge others that you do not know how to take care of the same issue someone else is having. Say, for example, you may hear every day a road rage occurred. Someone would drive so fast and cut in front of you and you say, "Hey!" Well, what about yourself? Were you speeding too? Careful. I know I drive fast. I admit! I am not perfect. This kind of judgement is called hypocrite. That is why Jesus said the word, "Hypocrite" in verse 5!
Let see verse 3 and 4 about the mote and the beam.. Compare to the words today we use speck and the splinter or log if you want to use bigger picture here. You need to look at yourself in the mirror every day and find those logs you have in your own eyes even if you have specks which can be larger than someone else has!
Now, lets get back to more harsh judgment. the hypocrite. OK, you seen that on the news for years now with racism. I know I will touch big issue here and that is why there are no comments here. There are good judgment if you know how to do it right. Yes, there are some mistakes out there people make and that touched off a firestorm of judgment. Sure, maybe the police or even government agents made judgment as they can do best.. What would you do if they saw someone with a gun? They are trained to protect the public FIRST and then themselves by return fire. I am not saying I am against gun control. I am for guns for good reasons. But when people want to judge so quick, they forgot to slow down and learn the facts why that occurred. People need to judge themselves first why they are upset. judge lest be judged.. meaning when you judge, you are judged. You judge, gets judged back by others. But when you read on till 5th verse, meaning you are being a hypocrite!
When you are angry at the police or some agency or even at some anti-Christian religious people, you will be judged back by them! Protesters get judged by being arrested, get a criminal record.. meaning they perhaps will never get a job. Christians judging other groups get themselves killed too.
You heard of "Good judgment call"? This means when you do act right and of kindness. Recently a Christian family shocked a non-Christian family on Christmas Eve by having their big dinner bill paid. The man who posted his bill that was paid for by a Christian family on Facebook was well happy because his religion group are being labeled as hate group in America lately. The Christian family showed love. That was a good judgment. And to my surprise, and I am sure others, that non-Christian group even said Merry Christmas as well.
You want to judge right? There is a good way to judge. Several verses here are shown about judgment in right way.
1 Corinthians. 5:12-13, KJV--
12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?
13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.
Verse 12 was saying Paul who wrote this, not to judge other Christians but in verse 13 saying that Christians can judge those who are not Christians!? That would shock those who are not saved and will call us racists. Enough of that, unsaved souls! You call us racists, you are racists yourselves! DON'T JUDGE TO CHRISTIANS but with KIND JUDGMENT TO NON-CHRISTIANS!
Let me tell you that when you point a finger at me and others, you are actually pointing the other THREE fingers to yourselves!
Now, THAT is what I call right judgment call from a Christian to those who are not saved. But that is called teaching. As I covered in past few weeks regarding to the Great Commission which is the Final Commandment from Jesus Christ is to go and teach all nations according to Matthew 28:19 and 20! Teaching is the proper way of judgment. With kindness and show God's love with others who are not saved.
Let me tell you how this works. I recalled in college in 1988, often this man who is Deaf and born a Jewish came up to me worrying about Israel because of what was happening at those times. And often I told him not to worry and God will take care of it. That was all I had to say it. Why? I was just Born-Again in March 1988 and this man started to ask me in August and ran through the whole year until he had to ask another Jewish Deaf man who was my classmate in same major. He fully understand how to witness a Jewish man to Christ. Not me. And he explained to him about Jesus Christ who is the Messiah.
Today as I heard that same worry-some Jewish Deaf man is serving his Messiah-Jesus Christ! He is not worried about Israel anymore! See, teaching is not just by words but by action. I have trust and faith in God God will take care of Israel by protection when Jesus returns at the Battle of Good and Evil and walks in the wall that is walled up by Muslims and they had their deaths buried there as attempt to block Jesus Christ from walking on there. Jesus will return and will make that judgment at the Battle. Many are killed or fallen in the crack and send down and will have to see Jesus ONE more time-the Final Judgment the Great Judgment on the Throne and forever will end evil in Heaven. Amen.
Remember, Believers, you are to teach, not judge with harshness. You can judge but you need to show your walk.. not hypocrites.. You can not do things you love to do that are sinful and then tell others they can not do and when they found you, they will hate God more because of your hypocrisy. Careful!
You can even judge phony Christians or what I call them CINO-Christians-In-Name-Only. They even have fake bibles. I strongly believe in KJV because it HAS final authority and final written in English that you do not need other translations that even blot out verses!! Does your Bible has 1 John 5:7? Does your Bible has Matthew 17:21? What about Matthew 18:11. Some have copied off of other Books and insert it.
I am not trying to judge you but you should stick with King James Bible. Let me tell you this. Easy to see churches today. If your church uses different bible versions, do you see people bring bibles to church? If your church uses multi-versions, do you see bibles in people's hands/arms at church? Do you see churches that have males wearing hats while praying? Oh, I know of a church that the pastor do not bring up the Bible and he is all talk for 45 minutes or so! Saw it on TV. A local church! Does that means it is a good church? Christians can sometimes judge churches but only to keep it to yourself. But when people from those churches come up and start to talk to you about inviting you to come to their church. ALWAYS ASK QUESTIONS! That is a good technique of judgment.
Please respect other people when they judge you by being humble but do NOT initiate a fire. Heard of the idiom, "Don't burn bridges!" OK, when you talk with a CINO or unsaved soul, there are better way to judge them. Show them the Light. Invite them to church with you, invite them to Christ. All with kindness.
Remember, Jesus said the last thing before he went to heaven is just to teach them!
Matthew 28:19-20 KJV--
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
When you finish reading this, please pray for wisdom how to judge right and teach others, then leave this monitor and go and teach all in Jesus' Name! Amen!
God bless you and have a good week!!
